Very Rare KRIEGSGEFANGENER WAHN. Armband

Description

Bought this today with a number of other WWI items including the post cards we are listing.
This is an original armband for the POW camp established by the Germans in 1917.
The camp located at Wahn, about 20 miles outside Cologne, housed around 50,000 French Colonial prisoners, mostly Africans.
The armband is stenciled on yellow damask – a certainly distinctive material for one of these.
No markings inside.  The armband is fairly large, measuring about 5.25 inches tall and 16 inches in circumference.
