Vintage Skyroom Hotel Mapes Casino Reno Nevada Wooden Applause Drum Roll Sticks
I bought these many years from a older man that used to run the local auctions, who sometimes sold at our local swap meets.
He told me these were items given out and used for clapping alterative in the Mapes Skyroom when Milton Berle was in town doing his Shows because he couldn't stand the sound of loud applause during his acts.
They are made of wood and are stamped
RENO NEVADA - MAPES HOTEL - SKYROOM.
These are only 3 colors I have ever seen.
I am selling these as a lot of all 3 shown in pictures.
Wood has imperfections such as splinters rough spots or flat areas that weren't sanded smooth in some areas. And or may not all be perfectly straight etc
The ink stamps vary as well, some are darker or lighter in nature with varying ink amounts stamped onto them during application process.
So basically no two are exactly alike since they were probably made by hand in Japan or something.
These are new old stock items so any imperfections are from mfg process. Please see pictures which is part of the description as well.
Wood dowels are approximately 7'' long some may be a tad shorter from not being inserted as deeply when being glued in, the drum ends do not come off.
Drum ends are approximately 1" diameter and are flat on one end and will stand up.
