Here is a
World War I Imperial German Army Photo Post Card.

hauntingly captures young men who have experienced the horrors of War trying to bring a touch of normalcy to their world at the front

You have a Field Photo Post Card of a
German Army Unit Soccer Team with their Sergeant and Officer
.  The
players all have a haunting 1,000 yard stare
, though
a couple players try to pose as athletes first
versus combat hardened soldiers stretched to the limit.  Others you can see are looking away or shifting their gazes.  Their
Officer is highly decorated
and wears the
Iron Cross 1st Class and 2nd Class Ribbon
.  There is a 1914 date and a written sentiment to the back.
I am really half tempted to keep this particular Post Card
as it captures the tragedy of War in such very basic human terms.
The Photo Post Card is in about fair to fair condition and is 108 years old.
