WWI War Propaganda Portrait Bowl 1914 German Army Commanders + Kaiser Wilhelm II

Description

For your consideration this week is an antique double-handled dessert tray by C.T. Altwasser, Silesia. This tray commemorates the German Army's Commanders in 1914, as well as Kaiser Wilhelm II, and was most likely a propaganda piece intended to generate support for Germany as it headed into WWI.
This fine porcelain dessert plate has gilt trimming around its edge, as well as encircling all 13 transfer portraits. Those representing Germany's 1914 Army Leadership include (l-r):
Field Marshal Karl von Bulow (1846-1921)
General Josias von Heeringen (1850-1926)
Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria (1869-1955)
Albrecht, Duke and Crown Prince of Wurttemberg (1865-1939)
Commander Max von Hausen (1846-1922)
General Erich Georg von Falkenhayn (1861-1922)
Colonel General Hans Hartwig von Beseler (1850-1921)
General Field Marshall (and future president of Germany) Paul von Hindenburg (1847-1934)
General Alexander von Kluck (1846-1934)
General Otto von Emmich (1848-1915)
Crown Prince Wilhelm of Germany and Prussia (1882-1951)
Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941)

The transfer portraits are crisp, as is the gorgeous green oak leaf-and-acorn background motif.
Measures 11” in diameter (from handle to handle). Condition is near mint, with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs, and only some very slight wear and gilt loss consistent with age. The reverse shows the C.T. Altwasser, Silesia hallmark.
